The History Society
Since it’s September 2006 launch Bidford and District History Society has enjoyed a thriving membership with meeting venues packed. The Society draws members from Salford Priors, Bidford, Cleeve Prior parishes and neighbouring towns.
The aim of the society is to entertain and inform people who have curious minds about interesting historical subjects. Members enjoy guest speakers, outings and projects based on historical topics.
Some meetings focus on very local issues while others consider the impact of national issues on this area (such as men going off to war). Some meetings consider domestic topics such as families owning pigs or the medieval Christmas. There is a real diversity of subjects.
Visit the Society website at
www.bidfordhistory.org.uk to see our programme and read about some recent meetings.
There is a modest annual membership fee of £15 per person, and refreshments are available after meetings. Occasional visitors to our meetings just pay on the night.
