THE OTHER PLACE, SALFORD
The Other Place, Salford, known locally as TOPS, has now been open for almost three years. Originally used by the Youth Club and the Kindergarten, it was taken over by the Parish Council and has been completely refurbished. It has two meeting rooms, an excellent kitchen area and disabled access and facilities, and is set in its own grounds. There is a convenient car park nearby.
It is now home to SPATS, the Youth Club, the Rainbows, Brownies and Guides, the Fete Committee and the Readers’ Group. It is also used by other local groups, such as the Parish Council and the local branch of the Royal British Legion, for occasional meetings and fundraising events.
We have a management committee, responsible for the day to day running of the building, and fundraising events are held each year to raise money. In the past we have held jumble sales and quiz nights, and always take part in the annual fete, selling strawberry cream teas!
