Parish Council Member Panels – Appointment Statement
In order to support the efficient and informed decision-making of the Parish Council, Member Panels may be established to focus on specific areas of Council business. These Panels are advisory in nature and are tasked with providing recommendations to the full Council.
Resolution:
The Council hereby resolves to establish the following Member Panels, each comprising appointed councillors, to consider and advise on matters within their respective areas of focus:
- Finance & Audit Panel
Purpose:
To review and monitor the Council’s financial management, budgeting processes, and financial planning; to provide recommendations on financial policy and strategy.
Membership:
Cllr Kim James (Chairman)
Cllr Dave Price
Reporting:
Reports and recommendations to be submitted to the full Council for approval.
- Grants Panel
Purpose:
To consider applications for financial assistance submitted to the Council; to assess eligibility and alignment with Council priorities; to make recommendations on grant allocations.
Membership:
Cllr Rosemary Green
Cllr Max Howarth
Cllr Jan McClean
Reporting:
Recommendations to be presented to the Council for final determination.
Terms of Reference:
Each Panel shall operate in accordance with terms of reference approved by the Council. Panels do not have delegated authority to make final decisions unless explicitly authorised by resolution of the full Council.
Review:
Panel appointments and terms of reference shall be reviewed annually at the Annual Meeting of the Council or as otherwise determined by resolution.
